Over the last 60 years VSO has worked in over 90 countries, with more than 80,000 volunteers and supported 50,000,000 people. And none of this would be possible without the support of our regular givers.
Having guaranteed income from our generous monthly givers means we are able to plan for long-term solutions and invest in more projects. It means we are able not just to offer support in the short term, but we can help communities develop sustainable and ongoing change.
At VSO, we do development differently
We fight poverty not by sending aid, but by working through volunteers and partners to create long-lasting change in some of the world’s poorest regions.
We don't believe that people should be passive recipients of aid. We believe that they have the power, courage and desire to transform their own communities. Our primary actors are closely involved in every aspect of our programme design and delivery, and are critical to ensuring long-lasting change.
