Nepal Floods

VSO volunteers are there when disaster strikes - donate today to help.

In times of disaster or crisis, many people lose everything they hold dear—their homes, belongings, even their loved ones. Life as they knew it falls apart in an instant.

That’s why VSO is committed to supporting vulnerable communities in their most difficult times. Since the earthquake in Nepal in 2015, VSO has played a key role in providing humanitarian aid in 20 different countries.

When a crisis hits, our volunteers are already on the ground. They know their local communities and are well placed to respond in a crisis, making sure that food, water, and medical care reaches the right people quickly and effectively.

What’s more, when the world moves on, our volunteers are still there, providing vital support in their communities in the months and years it takes to recover after devastation.

About VSO

VSO is an international charity that backs local volunteers to spark lasting change by:

  • Developing response projects to provide immediate relief during humanitarian crises and help communities rebuild in the long term. From building schools in refugee camps to supporting families after natural disasters, our work has a lasting impact.
  • Setting up health services to people in remote communities;
  • Providing education to girls and children with disabilities;
  • Equipping people, especially women, with the skills and tools they need to build resilient livelihoods.

VSO supports local volunteers with training, resources, and networks to ensure they can work effectively alongside partners and communities. Our volunteers pass the spark that changes people’s lives.
