VSO has a network of speakers across the UK made up of individuals who have volunteered with us. Hear their account of the impact of international development, as our volunteers share their experience living and volunteering overseas.

Today was fantastic... The children were engaged and wanted to talk about what they had learned at break time, thank you for an excellent presentation!
We have a range of speakers who have been fundamental to our work in improving health, livelihoods and education across Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
Hear about what it’s like to volunteer overseas from someone who has experienced it first-hand. From working to increase access to education for girls in Nepal, to helping to improve healthcare in Zambia, our volunteers can come and share their inspirational stories at school assemblies, community group meetings and careers fairs.
Our speakers include youth volunteers who have spent three months volunteering on the ICS programme alongside other young people, and professional volunteers who have spent one year or more volunteering with us. VSO speakers can cover a range of topics whether you’re interested in finding out more about international development, VSO’s impact or how to volunteer with us.
We recommend approximately eight weeks' notice for a talk.
Please note that our speaker service currently operates in the UK only and is subject to volunteers’ availability.
