Every little helps – your support is creating long-term change

You're supporting 3,505 volunteers in 28 countries and supported over 8,200,000 people

As the old saying goes, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.”

At VSO, our projects are guided by the core idea of the ripple effect. It’s a way to make a lasting difference to injustice and inequality - by unlocking the power of people. The result is that our work has a long term and sustainable impact, lasting for generations.

Even the smallest positive act or donation can set into motion a ripple effect leading to more opportunity for some of the world’s most marginalised people. This means that when an NGO like VSO receives support, it makes long-lasting change possible.

Your donations help our amazing expert volunteers to harness the power of knowledge and skills sharing. Which are then passed onto millions of people worldwide, helping to tackle poverty and empower some of the poorest people and transform the most vulnerable communities.

See a break down of the ripple effect in our three key areas of practice
