Consultancy - Consultancy of an Organic Waste Specialist

Location: Kenya  |  Part Time

Objectives of the assignment:


a. Organic Waste Markets, Products, and Customers

b. VSO Organic Waste Intervention Strategy

Deliverables:


a)   Production of market evaluation report evaluating the market potential for organic waste products, considering factors such as demand, competition, pricing, market trends, market dynamics, and consumer preferences, aiming to identify opportunities for product development and market penetration.

b)   Product identification and scoping report detailing scope of products derived from organic waste, with a particular emphasis on three clusters: organic manure, animal feeds, and compost-based soil amendments. With clear recommendations on the feasibility and market demand for these products in the three W2W Counties.

c)    Documentation on standards, regulations, and policies for organic waste management outlining the current standards, regulations, and policies related to organic waste management in the three target W2W Counties. Including recommendations for W2W primary actors on how to comply with existing standards and influence policies.

d)   Development of W2W Organic Waste Strategy with workable solutions and indicators to measure impact, strategies to build markets, and partnerships.  

e)   Development of a comprehensive training manual and conducting Training of Trainers program for implementing project team to enhance their capacity in organic waste management.

The purpose of this role is to strategically lead and coordinate the development of a National Digital Literacy Strategy, working closely with the technical team from the Mozambican National Department of Literacy.

To strengthen the capacity of the implementation partners and teachers for successful delivery of disability and inclusion outcomes under the A-plus project, supporting overall VSO’s inclusion footprint in Uganda.

Early Childhood Care and Education Technical Support - National Volunteer

Location: Bangladesh

The volunteer will work with partner organizations to provide comprehensive technical support for the successful implementation of the Education program within the ACTIVE project Bangladesh, focusing on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and Government Primary School (GPS) support. The volunteer is responsible for ensuring technical assistance in mapping and implementing a contextualized ECCE curriculum, fostering child-friendly learning environments, and building the capacity of various community volunteers.

English Language Teacher Trainer

Location: Various Countries

As an English Language trainer, you will support and enhance the English proficiency of secondary school teachers, enabling them to implement the STEM approach in their teaching practice effectively.

You will work closely with local partner trainers and receive technical assistance from VSO to ensure successful project implementation. Through individualised coaching and mentorship, you will provide ongoing support and assessment of language proficiency, developing resources and fostering a culturally sensitive learning environment. You will conduct regular classroom observations and professional development initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to elevate the student language proficiency and empower and advance the skills of secondary school teachers in their instructional practices.
