The youth programme adviser will to work towards investing in
programmes to support young people, especially the poor and marginalized
youth, to take action and participate in development
Skills, qualifications and experience
Proven experience on programme development on youth issues
Experience on developing consultation and training toolkit in youth programme
Experience on facilitating the training and sharing learning with others;
Experience of developing monitoring and evaluation tools;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
Ability to work sensitively with people;
Ability and patience to adapt technical and practical knowledge to a low-tech context with significant constraints;
Professional qualifications and experience:
Rich practical experience and technical qualification in youth program development;
Experience working with young people, government and non-government officials;
Experience on program development and research;
Strategic thinking on longer term youth program development;
Engaging multiple stakeholders at different level to ensure their inputs/feedback has incorporated while developing the programme plan.
Allowance and accommodation
All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.
VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies
