Role overview

As a Secondary School Teacher / Advisor you’ll be working collaboratively with your counterpart in a developing country. You'll advise them on curriculum design, relationship management, resourcing and evaluation of skills, and help them progress with their stakeholder engagement. You'll assist on strengthening the relationship between teachers, directors and parents. You'll identify opportunities for head teachers to develop staff unity and increase teacher motivation. The emphasis of your position will depend on the key objectives of the local partner.
As an English teacher and Teacher trainer, you will deliver training to the academic staff who train student teachers. Volunteers will be expect to model best practice participatory teaching practices to teacher trainers, for many of whom this will be a new approach.

The aims of these projects are to:
(i) Improve the English proficiency of Academic staff
(ii) Strengthen teaching methodology of State School Teacher Trainers.
(iii) Increase awareness and use of latest materials, media and methodology of Teacher Trainers

Skills, qualifications and experience

You have at least a bachelor's degree in education (BEd)or Bachelor of Secondary education
A minimum of 5 years teaching experience in secondary or teacher training college.
Experience of teacher training and teacher coaching is not essential but desirable.
Able to demonstrate excellent practice in the classroom
Fluent English proficiency
Experience mentoring or training other teachers
IT skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
