To provide finance support of Southern Africa Network On Prisons (SANOP) and network members to strengthen the financial management capacity of SANOP. , projects and financial support to National Chapters. Support roll out of a financial capacity scan for SANOP in order to determine capacity needs and priorities of SANOP
Implement a capacity strengthening action plan for SANOP to ensure proper systems development to prevent and manage breaches of integrity and/or financial irregularities.
Ensure that all payment requests are valid, have adequate supporting documents and are checked for budget availability and processed timeously in line with standing policy
Prepare journals for all payments and receipts and post them to the Accounting System at least weekly
Ensure that month-end processes are completed in line with set timelines and checklist completed and signed off by the SANOP Manager
Skills, qualifications and experience
Competencies and Behaviour
• Degree level qualification in finance or business management.
• At least 3 year experience of working in a similar position.
• Good knowledge of administration and office support services, including systems and procedures.
• Good coordination skills - methodical and self-organized.
• Financial and Information Technology Systems – Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel particularly. Use of accounting software, SUN or Pastel Accounts system preferred
