Global Leadership Team

The Global Leadership Team (GLT) meets monthly and is responsible for setting corporate and group annual objectives and budgets, organisational policy and terms and conditions for the employment of staff.

Chief Executive

Marg has been chief executive of VSO since joining the organisation in December 2008. She works closely with the directors of VSO federation members and the other members of the Global Leadership Team in order to provide the overall strategic direction for the organisation under the People First strategy.

Assistant Chief Executive

Sarah joined VSO as assistant chief executive in January 2011. Her role includes particular responsibility for the strategic change programmes – Impact and Scale, Quality and Performance, Global Income Growth, and Governance.
Brian Rockliffe

Brian Rockliffe

Director of VSO UK

Brian Rockliffe has been involved with VSO since the 1970s when he was a volunteer in Tanzania. As director of VSO UK he chairs the UK Management Team and oversees important departments such as UK volunteering, UK programmes, external affairs, marketing and engagement, and UK fundraising.

Director of Policy

Amanda is the newest member of the Global Leadership Team, joining in April 2011. She heads up Policy Group, overseeing VSO's policy and advocacy work, monitoring and evaluation, research, and capacity-building across VSO's goal areas across the world.

Director of Africa LAC Group

Tiziana joined VSO in 2008, initially as regional director for Horn and East Africa. She has been in her current role since 2010 and has responsibility for leading on programming and strategy across VSO's programme offices in Africa and Latin America.

Director of Asia-Pacific Group

Previously director of Strategy and Performance, Matt took over as director of Asia-Pacific Group in February 2011. Matthew leads on strategy and programming across programme offices in the region.

Paul joined VSO in the summer of 2010 and his broad portfolio of responsibilities are absolutely key to the successful delivery of VSO's internal transformation agenda as well as its ability to function effectively.

Director of Human Resources and Organisational Learning

Kathryn joined VSO in early 2010. She heads up Human Resources and Organisational Learning teams, with responsibility for VSO's employment and practices in the UK and internationally.
