A world apart
Fifty years ago, a letter to The Sunday Times helped found Voluntary Service Overseas. Since then, 32,000 volunteers have travelled abroad to help developing countries. Owen Amos speaks to three North-East volunteers recently returned from far-flung corners of the world.
